Career development

Your HRM department is involved on a daily basis with all the processes entailed in staff recruitment, transfers and departures. Following an intensive recruitment trajectory, focused at putting the right person in the right place, our primary focus is to interest and retain you.

Working for GfK means you are given every opportunity to develop yourself in various areas of expertise. The direction you choose to go depends on your aspirations. It could be that your career opportunities at GfK Panel Services run horizontally rather than vertically. Whether you want to expand your area of expertise or you aspire to a more specialist position, at GfK there is more than one way to shape your career. How you do that and at what speed depends on your own efforts. But we will always continue to discuss your career with you.

GfK invests a great deal in development. There are many study programmes and courses available, both internally and externally. The study programmes our employees undertake vary from methodology, presentation techniques, sales techniques, communication skills, project management to knowledge of SRM Media. There is a variety of study programmes available and we also look for new programmes that can be tailor-made for you to enrich your knowledge and skills even further. You are expected to develop continuously and you will be given every opportunity to do so.

You and your manager will draw up your personal development plan (PDP) and update it every year. The activities you describe in it match your personal situation and learning style, and relate to the organisation's objectives (goal setting). The plan should strike the right balance between your wishes and capabilities and the interests and objectives of GfK. Wishes, agreements, possibilities and impossibilities become clear by means of continuous, open communication. You will be coached throughout the year along the lines of your development plan, but also formally appraised. You will of course also receive feedback throughout the year from your manager, the coaches assigned to you and colleagues.

Personnel policy

Of course your salary is very important. But we think it’s just as important to give you all the scope and opportunities you need to shape your own growth and development at GfK and your own area of expertise. To help you in this, GfK continually makes sure you have an interesting job with challenging career paths and development opportunities. We stimulate continuity and work security and provide excellent working conditions in a state of the art working environment – where the working atmosphere is good and open and people have respect for each other – and an attractive package of employee benefits.
Because we think there should be a good work-life balance, we have introduced a flexible leave scheme. This scheme offers you the opportunity to organise your work and life according to your own needs.
In addition to your basic salary, GfK pays a fixed 13th month and 8% holiday bonus, plus a package of attractive  secondary and tertiary employee benefits.

Some of these are listed below:

  • A good pension scheme
  • Collective employee insurance
  • Collective insurance at a substantial discount for your car, motorcycle, house contents and travel
  • Bicycle plan
  • Contractual savings scheme and life-course savings scheme
  • The opportunity to play sport via GfK

Our colleagues’ health is of paramount importance to us, which is why GfK does its best to create as healthy a working climate as possible. This translates to excellent office facilities, a pleasant atmosphere, expert guidance in the use of devices GfK provides and state of the art ICT tools.
In short: GfK is keen to offer you its commitment and engagement with the objective of entering into a long-lasting, mutually successful collaboration with you.

Management development

Perhaps you are looking to develop your leadership qualities? In that case, you may be eligible for our Management Development Programme. This learning pathway is open to professionals with a number of years’ work experience whose performance is above the norm. A selection takes place each year. The focus of this programme is on accelerating your growth by developing your leadership and expanding your organisational perspective. We have devised a challenging programme for this. In conjunction with your manager, the division management team and HRM, we establish your learning aim and determine the development interventions.

Should you decide to leave GfK to join a client and find out what the impact of our advice is on them, the intensive collaboration with us often continues. We will then often meet up with you as a client or, at a later stage, even as an employee again with an even wider scope. Whatever the outcome, we will broaden your scope and can guarantee the professional growth you need, either inside or outside our organisation.
